Am 18.05.2024 ist es soweit und die AWOKO-Partyreihe feiert ihr einjähriges Bestehen! Als Special gibt es Awokos ersten Afrodance Contest. Die Begleitmusik hierfür sowie für den Rest eines sicherlich unvergesslich werdenden Abends liefert neben den Resident DJs Jahrone und Samsam der Dormunder top DJ für Afrohouse und Afrotech Dj Piccel.

DJ Piccel:
Afrikanische Rhythmen gepaart mit House grooves, welche die Seele in Ecstase versetzen, begleitet von Sounds, die den Dopaminspiegel hoch katapultieren, das ist Piccell, die Summe aus AfroTech, TechHouse und Gqom.
Seit seiner frühen Kindheit ist die Kunst ein essenzieller, als auch treuer, Wegbegleiter welcher das Aufwachsen und Leben in einem kulturellen Cocktail mit den unterschiedlichsten Spannungen stark unterstützt hat. Dies spiegelt sich auch in seinem Sound wieder, so werden gerne Vocals aus den unterschiedlichsten afrikanischen Sprachen auf angolanischem AfroHouse gelegt und beispielsweise mit nordafrikanischen Darbukka Loops bereichert.

Aktuell arbeitet Piccell unteranderem an eigenen Produktionen sowie dem Künstlerkollektiv „Barulho World“ und ist als einer der Resident DJ’s im Junkyard Dortmund zuhause.
DJ Samsam:
DJ SamSam ist eine lebendige, kreative Künstlerin, die es liebt, zu entertainen. Sie ist begeistert von Musik aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt und teilt gerne ihre Lieblings-Tunes mit dem Publikum. Sie zeichnet sich dadurch aus, verschiedene Genres von Afrobeats über Amapiano und Dancehall bis hin zu Trap und Drill gekonnt zu mixen.
DJ Jahrone:
Seit 2013 ist Jahrone Soundmember der Rebel Sound Crew (Hannover/Köln) und ist ein echtes Multitalent im Bereich der afro-karibischen Music. Er hat sich weit über die Stadtgrenzen Hannovers hinaus einen Namen gemacht hat, sei es beim Nottinghill Carnival in London, beim Roadblock in Port Antonio (Jamaika) oder als Gast bei Ghanas bekanntester internationaler Reggae-Radio-Show "Yaad Settings" in Accra (Ghana).

Olatokunbo Cole aka Cole Fundz:
Olatokunbo Cole, auch bekannt als Cole Fundz, ist ein Afro Dance Model, ein professioneller darstellender Künstler, Schöpfer, Visionär und Lehrer, der mit der United Kingdom Alliance (UKA LTD) in Blackpool, England, verbunden ist.
“Ich bin Tänzer und begeistert von der Tanzkunst und dem künstlerischen Lebensweg.“
Cole tritt in verschiedenen Stylez auf, darunter African Rhythem, Hip-Hop, Streetstyle und andere moderne Stylez.

On May 18, 2024, the AWOKO party series celebrates its one-year anniversary! As a special feature, Awoko presents its first Afrodance Contest. Providing the accompanying music for this and the rest of what will surely be an unforgettable evening, alongside resident DJs Jahrone and Samsam, will be Dortmund's top DJ for Afrohouse and Afrotech, DJ Piccel.
DJ Piccel:
African rhythms paired with house grooves that send the soul into ecstasy, accompanied by sounds that skyrocket dopamine levels – that's Piccell, the fusion of AfroTech, TechHouse, and Gqom.
Since his early childhood, art has been an essential and loyal companion, strongly supporting his upbringing and life in a cultural cocktail of diverse tensions. This is also reflected in his sound, as vocals from various African languages are often layered over Angolan AfroHouse, enriched with North African darbuka loops.

Currently, Piccell is working on his own productions and with the artist collective "Barulho World," and is a resident DJ at Junkyard Dortmund.
DJ SamSam:
DJ SamSam is a vibrant, creative artist who loves to entertain. She is passionate about music from different parts of the world and loves to share her favourite tunes with her audience. She enjoys mixing her favourite genres ranging from Afrobeats, Amapiano and Dancehall to Trap and Drill sounds.
DJ Jahrone:
Jahrone has been a sound member of the Rebel Sound Crew (Hannover/Cologne) since 2013 and is a real all-rounder in the field of Afro-Caribbean music.
He has made a name for himself far beyond the city limits of Hanover, be it at the Nottinghill Carnival in London, at the Roadblock in Port Antonio (Jamaica) or as a guest at Ghana's most famous international reggae -Radio show "Yaad Settings" in Accra (Ghana).
